To Bill Ott of Lakeview, Ohio:
Bill, how was your conversation with DEC Commissioner Joe Martens? I’d like to learn about it.
Regarding Don Sage’s letter to the Editor, Abolish the Forest Preserve, Don raises a lot of valid points, and I agree with him for the most part.

Happy Thanksgiving Peter Heckman:
Do not know why I did not see your blog earlier.
I had e-mailed Joe Martens twice, leaving my phone number and e-mail address, and inviting his department to make itself known to readers of the almanack. Surely, input from the DEC would be welcome, but the DEC must not think the Adirondack Almanack relevant.
To e-mail the commissioner, go to http://www.dec.ny.gov/, click “about”, click “commissioner”, fill in the required information, leave a message, and forget about a reply, unless maybe a lot of Almanack readers would do the same.
Turkey is cooking,
