Re: “License Plate Cameras Trap Millions”:
A few years ago, I broke two traffic laws in Italy. A year later I received a summons with traffic camera photos of my rented car’s license plate. At the time, I had knowingly ignored the traffic signs, trusting instead in my safe driving.

I find little difference between a law enforcement officer sitting in front of a computer screen, seeing my law infraction, and a traffic cop in a squad car.

One of the privileges of using roads created by taxes from everybody, is to abide by the laws created for our safety. I knowingly violated two of those laws. Guilty. It cost me over $300 in Euros.

Suck it up, we’re in the 21st century.
