The View From Cascade Mountain

Cascade2 -finalOn Monday I climbed Cascade Mountain, one of the most popular High Peaks.  I met over 50 people headed up as I was descending.

Bob Sweet

Bob Sweet is an experienced outdoorsman and photographer who has lived in the Adirondacks since 1985.

He has paddled the Hudson River from North Creek to the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge, climbed Mt Kilimanjaro, and hiked across the northern Serengeti plains. In 2012, he climbed in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas.

Bob retired from New York State in 2010 and now operates SweetShots Photography.

    Bob – Great pic! I’m planning on hiking cascade with my 10 year old daughter later this summer – her first high peak! My research leads me to believe this probably the best starting place for young hikers looking to tackle a high peak. Agree? How were the black flies?
