Enjoy the beauty of winter in Star Lake, Cranberry Lake, and Wanakena with winter activities for the entire family at the two day-event White Out Weekend on Saturday February 28th, 2015 in the Hamlets of Star Lake and Wanakena and Sunday March 1st in the Hamlet of Cranberry Lake.
Events will start at 11am and continue into the early evening on both days. There is no cost to attend most events.
Visitors can enjoy outstanding local fare, local micro-brews, hot drinks and concessions, contra dancing, live music including the Noteworthy Hand Bell Choir, a dog-sled team demonstration, geo-caching games, curling, a guided hike of Tooley Pond Mountain, a guided cross-country ski tour of Peavine Swamp, an ice rescue demonstration, raffles, bonfires, snow bowling, the snow golfing challenge, wildlife presentations by Adirondack Raptors and Thompson Zoo, book signings, raffles, ice skating, an ESF hockey game, Smokey Bear, and for the kids, a special showing of Disney’s Frozen with Elsa & Anna, crafts, activities and a presentation by North Country Children’s Museum.
