The Paradox Lake Campground and the Paradox Lake Boat Launch will undergo a $598,000 improvement project this fall, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced.
The campground portion of the facility is already closed for the season. All roads within the campground, including those leading to the boat launch, will be milled and paved beginning October 1. The boat launch will be closed during the construction project and is expected to reopen by October 18. Boaters and camp owners should be aware the boat launch will be closed on Columbus Day Weekend.
DEC’s Paradox Lake Campground and Boat Launch are located on Route 74 in Paradox, NY, between Schroon Lake and Ticonderoga, two miles east of the hamlet of Severence. The boat launch features and improved ramp and parking for 25 vehicles with trailers. Launching is free, there is an $18 per night fee for camping (out of state residents pay an additional $5 per night).
The following DEC campgrounds remain open until October 12th: Ausable Point, Cranberry Lake, Eighth Lake, the Lake George Narrows, the Indian Lake Islands, Lake Durant, Lake Eaton, Lake George Battleground, Lewey Lake, Meacham Lake, Moffitt Beach, Nick’s Lake, Northampton Beach, Putnam Pond, Rogers Rock, Saranac Lake Islands, and Wilmington Notch. Fish Creek campground will close October 25th.
The project is funded through the NY Works program.
