Artists and guests are invited to visit View on the last day of the paint out, Saturday, September 5th at 5:30 pm, for a live art auction at View’s Gould Hall.
Over Labor Day weekend View becomes the center for a gathering of regional plein air artists. The plein air group Mountain Painters, who meet frequently at View, will be joined by additional regional artists.
View acts as a central meeting place for all of the artists, providing a welcome bag, breakfast, and a bagged lunch for each day of painting. On Friday participating artists get together for the annual Pein Air Bar-B Que, prepared by Brian Bamberger, as a number of the finished art is put on display for the auction. Each participating artist is asked to donate one framed piece for the art auction.
The Plein Air Art Auction includes special prizes and the option to bid on uniquely decorated Adirondack chairs. Light food and beverages are provided. Proceeds from the auction contribute to View’s operating expenses.
