APA Meeting Thursday: Cross-Country Trails, Master Plan Amendments

APA officeThe Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, December 10, 2015.  The Full Agency will come to order at 9:00 a.m. for Executive Director Terry Martino’s monthly report.

At 9:30 a.m., the State Land Committee will convene to deliberate the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for proposed amendments to the Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan.  If accepted, the committee will authorize public hearings to solicit comments regarding the proposed amendments.  The committee will also consider authorizing a public comment period for proposed Primitive Tent Site Guidance.  The committee meeting will conclude with an informational presentation on proposed amendments to the Wilmington Wild Forest Unit Management Plan.

At 1:00 p.m., the State Land Committee will reconvene for presentations on the Camp Santanoni Historic Area Unit Management Plan and proposed Cross Country Ski Trail Guidance.  The committee may authorize public comment periods on these actions.

At 2:15 p.m., the Regulatory Programs Committee will assemble to consider approval for a subdivision project.  The proposal involves the subdivision of 181 acres into eleven lots and the construction of ten single family dwellings.  The project is located in the town of Northhampton, Fulton County and the town of Edinburg, Saratoga County.

At 3:30 p.m., the Public Awareness Committee will be briefed by Clarkson University students on their semester’s work of developing a conceptual “hut to hut” destination trail around the Village of Saranac Lake and the surrounding area.  Their work included researching a route, identifying potential lodging locations, prototyping eco-lodges and analyzing economic impacts on the region.

At 4:15 a.m., the Full Agency will come to order for committee reports, Local Government Review Board, public and member comment.
