Long Lake, Raquette Lake Photo Contest

Amateur photographers are invited to submit a maximum of three entries for the 216 Long Lake and Raquette Lake Photography Contest. Photo submissions must have been made in Long Lake or Raquette Lake.

Prizes will be awarded for categories including: Our Town, People at Play, Best Landscape, Best Wildlife and overall Best in Show. Only digital entries will be accepted.

Entries must be submitted in jpeg format to longlakephotocontest@gmail.com by April 21st at 5 pm with name, address, phone, email, category, location where photo was taken and title, if any and category.

Photos can only be submitted as an email attachment and should not exceed 10MB. Maximum of three entries per person.

The awards will be announced Friday, May 20th.

    I am sure that photograph is not of Raquette Lake. It is taken at the carry landing at the upstream side of Buttermilk Falls on the Raquette River. I have a photo taken from that spot just last summer. It shows the same two white pine trees on the right-hand shoreline.

    Now that you mention this I know the exact spot you are implying and maybe you’re right. I can see the similarities but cannot confirm as it has been a stretch since my retina’s have zoomed-in on this location.If it is the same spot the falls are off to the right and you have to go through evergreens and over rocks to get this photo.
