Photo by Carolynn McCann of Old Forge entitled Stillness #2, Raquette Lake
I am sure that photograph is not of Raquette Lake. It is taken at the carry landing at the upstream side of Buttermilk Falls on the Raquette River. I have a photo taken from that spot just last summer. It shows the same two white pine trees on the right-hand shoreline.
White Pines do not lie.
Now that you mention this I know the exact spot you are implying and maybe you’re right. I can see the similarities but cannot confirm as it has been a stretch since my retina’s have zoomed-in on this location. If it is the same spot the falls are off to the right and you have to go through evergreens and over rocks to get this photo.
I guess I missed it by 1 day
