Pilots of seaplanes, land planes and amphibious aircraft are invited to fly-in to Speculator Pilots Weekend June 3 to 5.
Complimentary transportation will be available to pilots throughout the weekend to the event’s various activities and throughout the scenic Adirondack village.
The weekend’s events include a safety seminar, “Preparing for the Unexpected,” presented by Doug Stewart, a 2004 National Instructor of the year, nine-time Master Instructor and Designated Pilot Examiner with more than 11,500 hours of dual instruction. He’ll present a variety of scenarios including how to counter the “startle response” and how “threat and error management” can make for safer flying. Stewart will also discuss responses to engine failure, and more. Participants will receive credit for the Wings Pilot Proficiency Award Program.
Attendees are also invited to visit the Piseco Airport to explore its photo museum of Adirondack bush pilots and their old-time airplanes, and to learn of their stories and activities.
Pilots who preregister will be eligible to win door prizes at the safety seminar. Preregister by sending an email to [email protected] Pilots are encouraged to bring non-pilot friends so they can learn more about flying.
