Free Museum Board Training Being Held

MANY LogoThe Museum Association of New York (MANY) has announced a lineup of free Board Development Workshops, sponsored by the New York State Office of Cultural Education. In partnership with the New York Council on Nonprofits, MANY aims to raise the professionalism and leadership of cultural institutions by providing quality board training for museums.

Below are dates and addresses for regional events scheduled in Albany and Utica:

Capital Region & Hudson Valley – August 25th, 2016, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Huxley Theater, New York State Museum, 222 Madison Ave, Albany, 12230

Central New York, Mohawk Valley & Adirondacks – August 8th, 2016, 9 am – noon
Munson-Williams Proctor Arts Institute, 310 Genessee Street, Utica, 13502

Each event will begin at 9 am with introductory remarks. From 9:15 -10:45 the New York Council on Non-Profits will offer Board Development Training. Light refreshments will be served from 10:45 to 11, followed by a panel of three museum professionals answering questions that were submitted by attendees through registration.
