Women in Leadership Series Forum in Old Forge

Women in LeadershipThe Adirondack Research Consortium has announced the third of its Women in Leadership Series Workshops: “Women in the Arts and Humanities.”

The workshop is scheduled for 10 am to 2:30 pm, on Wednesday, June 21st at the VIEW in Old Forge, NY.

The purpose of this workshop is to discuss challenges and opportunities for women in the arts and humanities by looking at trends in a broad and regional scale. The goal is to develop recommendations for future actions and research needs through facilitated discussions.  The program includes a morning panel discussion with invited professionals working in the arts and humanities, lunch, and a facilitated afternoon discussion with all attendees.

Featured speakers include Branda Miller, Professor of the Arts at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Carol “Kickie” Britt, Executive Director of SUNY Potsdam’s Crane Institute for Music Business.  A panel, which includes Hallie Bond, Adirondack Historian; Deborah Fitts, Executive Director of Lake Placid Sinfonietta; and Bernadette Speach, Adirondack Composer/Pianist, will be facilitated by Lynn Schwarzer, Professor of Art and Art History at Colgate University.

    I apologize for the nit-pickiness of my comment. The art museum in Old Forge is called VIEW, not “the VIEW”. They invested a lot of thought into the decision to rename themselves and are proud of it. Thanks.
