The multi-agency search for a missing skier, Constantinos “Danny” Filippidis, continued through the weekend and continues today, Monday, February 12, 2018. Since that time, teams led by the Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers in coordination with the New York State Police and staff from Whiteface Mountain have been searching for Filippidis.
Other agencies involved in the search include the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services, the Office of Emergency Management, Office of Fire Prevention Services, Whiteface and Gore Mountain ski patrol, United States Customs and Border Protection, Toronto Fire Services and other local volunteers.
Anyone who may have seen Filippidis on the mountain or who was using digital media such as a Go Pro camera during their time at the mountain on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, is asked to call the New York State Police at 518-873-2750.
Knowing nothing about his last sighting. My choice to look would be The Follies. Snowshoe that cliff base and take that wash all the way to Ausable river. Not sure how to cross river there other than HF gorge bridge.
