Featured Trail: Death Brook Falls

death brook falls trail Death Brook Falls, also known as Hidden Falls, is in the Blue Ridge Wilderness at the southeast end of Raquette Lake. There is a small pull off along NY 28 and a DEC sign marks the start of a 0.3 mile hike.

The trail is marked with blue NY DEC markers, and is well worn and easy to follow and reaches the base of the falls.

Leaving Route 28 at the trailhead, pass the gate and follow the old road and soon pass an area that probably was the old parking area. Continue on the narrower path and soon reach a fork. Take the left fork. You’ll soon hear the falling water and the last stretch of the trail takes you along or into the stream to reach the base of this waterfall.
