Thurman Woods Walk and Artisan Market June 2nd

Woods Walk and Artisan MarketThe Annual Woods Walk and Artisan Market at Martin’s Lumber in Thurman has been set for June 2nd from 10 to 4.

The Woods Walk and Artisan Market includes leisurely walks through the woods, lessons about sustainability and trees with Gary Martin and the medicinal value of plants with Amy Cason, and more.

Scheduled activities include:

Sawmill Demonstration on the mill with Gary Martin;

Wood Carving demo by John Los, along with his famous spoons, perch stools and Windsor chairs;

Artist and potter, Diane Coler-Cubit will give potters wheel demonstrations;
“Forest Floor Art work” by Toni Varnum;

Weather permitting: Dowsing with Bruce Irwin. Bruce will teach the wonder and magic of dowsing;

Meet author Perky Granger & founder of “Adirondack Mountain Writers Retreat” with autographed copies of Adirondack Gold and A Summer of Strangers plus Shared Stories from Daughters of Alzheimer’s;

Gail Seaman will have hand crafted occasion cards along with demos on card embossing using: embossing folders, embossing with powder and heat, hot foil embossing, flower making and shaping die cutting and ink stamping. Attendees can make cards to take home;

Evelyn M Wood of Windy Ridge Farm LLC will bring their wood fired Maple Syrup, famous Jams & Jellies, and custom made pic-nick tables & porch swings made from lumber off of their mill;

Avis Russle of The Thurman Quilt Club will display her works;

Laurie West of Empty Nest Sud-drome will bring her handmade cold process soap, body butter, body butter sugar scrubs, lotion bars, lip balm, bath balms;

and Master Gardener Elli Muller will provide information on ticks, raised beds and container gardening, as well as answer any gardening questions.

Martin’s Lumber is located at 280 Valley Road, Thurman, 25 minutes from Lake George.
