The Adirondack Park Agency (APA) will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook, NY on Thursday, June 8th, 2018.
The meeting will cover proposed enhancements to the Olympic Jumping Complex, proposed amendments to the Black River and Cranberry Lake Boat Launch, Lake George Battlefield, Gore Mountain, Saranac Lake Wild Forest, and Grasse River UMPs, a private RV campground, and more.
What follows is the agenda issued by the APA:
At 9:30 am, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) proposed enhancements for the Olympic Jumping Complex located in the Town of North Elba, Essex County. Improvements include construction of new ski jumps, chair lift, tubing hill, zip line and the addition of two shooting lanes to the biathlon shooting range. The committee will also consider approval for a 12-site RV private campground in the town of Long Lake, Hamilton County.
At 11 am, the State Land Committee will come to order to deliberate Adirondack Park State Land Master Plan (APSLMP) conformance for proposed amendments to the Black River and Cranberry Lake Boat Launch Unit Management Plans (UMP).
At 1 pm, the committee will reconvene to consider APSLMP conformance for proposed amendments to the Lake George Battlefield UMP. Staff will also request that the Board authorize two public hearings for the Gore Mountain Intensive Use Ski Area related State Land reclassification proposal and initiate a public comment period on APSLMP conformance for proposed amendments to the Gore Mountain UMP. In addition, the committee will consider holding public comment periods on APSLMP conformance for the Saranac Lake Wild Forest UMP and for proposed amendments to the Grasse River UMP.
At 3:30 pm, the Economic Affairs Committee will hear a presentation from Mr. Jay Ward, President of the Ward Lumber Company. Mr. Ward will discuss the Ward Lumber forest products business located in the Town of Jay, Essex County. The company has serviced builders and homeowners since 1890.
At 4:15 pm, the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions and hear member and Local Government Review Board comment.
