Nell Painter, author, artist and Professor of American History, Emerita, at Princeton, is set to host a signing and discussing of her new book, Old in Art School, on Sunday, June 17th, at 4 pm.
The event will be held at Lake Flower Landing, 421 Flower Avenue in Saranac Lake. Painter will be joined in discussion by Keene Valley artist Frank Owen.
Old in Art School: A Memoir of Starting Over is a journey full of surprises as Ms. Painter asks, “how are women, and artists, “seen” and judged by their age, race and looks?” Nell Painter holds a MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts. She is the author of Standing at Armageddon, Sojourner Truth, and the New York Times bestseller The History of White People.
The event is co-hosted by North Country-based human rights and freedom education project John Brown Lives! and Lake Flower Landing, a performance and event venue.
