View Arts Center is set to host an art auction on Saturday, September 1st beginning at 5 pm. A preview reception will take place at 4:30 pm prior to the auction when all of the donated paintings will be on display.

This benefit auction is the culmination of a three-day painting event, during which over forty artists are expected to paint en plein air (outdoors) in various locations around Old Forge, and will then donate a painting for the auction.

The event brings together a selection of over forty artists, including Wendy Harris and Catherine P. O’Neill. Wendy Harris is an award-winning and nationally-collected artist working primarily in pastels.

Catherine P. O’Neill is a watercolor painter and member of the AWS, NWS, and TWSA. Her paintings explore the Adirondack region through landscapes and portraits.

The auction event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a cash bar.

There will also be an additional selection of paintings by the participating artists for a “pay and take” sale in View’s lobby during the entire three-day event. All proceeds will benefit View’s year-round programs, events, activities, and opportunities to celebrate the arts in the Adirondacks.
