Upcoming Workshops, Events at Gore Mtn

Gore Mountain yoga classGore Mountain has announced a number of upcoming events, including mountain biking camps, yoga workshops and more.

Scenic skyrides aboard the Northwoods Gondola, hiking & biking trails, and Base Area attractions are open Thursday-Sunday until September 2, and Saturday-Sunday during the fall.

Full-day and morning-only camps are set for Saturday, August 11. Learn to ride with more control, climb efficiently, and descend downhill mountain biking tracks with new skill and confidence. During the morning session 9 am to noon, bikers spend time training in Gore’s agility park and practicing on Base Area and Ski Bowl cross-country trails. The afternoon session 12:45 to 3:30 pm incorporates gondola-serviced riding with lots of help for tackling the more advanced downhill terrain. Camps are for beginner and intermediate riders, ages 10 and up. The full-day camp is $55, or $65 with lunch, and the morning-only session is $40.

On Saturday, August 25, Michele Pearsall will lead mountaintop yoga workshops at the summit of Bear Mountain. Join gentle yoga at 1 pm, vinyasa power yoga at 2 pm, or both. A scenic skyride is included, and classes are $29, or $15 for 18-19 season passholders. Pre-registration is required.

More events are on the way for fall, including Family Savings Weekend September 1-2, the Leaf Cruncher 5k on September 16, Carl Heilman’s annual photography workshop on September 22, and Gore’s famous Harvest Festival October 6-7.
