New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) managed ski resorts – Whiteface Mountain, Wilmington; Gore Mountain, North Creek; and Belleayre Mountain, Highmount – have all begun snowmaking operations in anticipation of their season openings, Saturday, November 17th, 2018 – weather and conditions permitting.
Snowmakers at Belleayre Mountain Ski Resort were at the summit blasting away from the top down last weekend. The team of snowmakers worked their way down Deer Run, from top to bottom to start, and then headed over to Iroquois in the lower area.
Gore Mountain, combined their snowmaking efforts, running four fans at the Ski Bowl for Nordic and nine fans in the resort’s base area.
While at Whiteface, snowguns and fans started blanketing the Olympic mountain’s Excelsior, Summit Express, Fox and Mixing Bowl trails last weekend.
Season passes remain on sale. Through November 26, the full-season adult Ski3 pass is available for $899; the Ski3 teen pass is $429. The 2018-’19 Ski3 junior pass is available for $329.
