The Whallonsburg Grange Hall in Essex is set to hold its holiday celebration and performance of “A Christmas Carol” Radio Play on Sunday, December 9 at 3 pm, and their annual Holiday Market on Saturday, December 15 from 1 to 4 pm.
The Grange’s annual holiday celebration and performance of “A Christmas Carol” Radio Play is Sunday. There will be music and dancing and holiday cheer upstairs, and cookie-baking and ornament-making for kids downstairs starting at 3 pm. The curtain goes up on “Carol” at 4 pm and with wonderful live music (organ, cello, fiddle) and a great cast. All proceeds will be donated to Families First food pantry, which serves over 100 families from around the area.
The Market brings together thirteen local farms and food producers selling fresh breads, meats and sausages, cheeses, produce, dried beans, eggs, jams and jellies, maple syrup, pickles, pies, candy and more. It’s a one-stop shop for your holiday table and the place to buy holiday baskets and unique and delicious gifts.
Handcrafted decorations and unique gifts will also be on sale, along with children’s books and coloring books from naturalist Sheri Amsel. Products from local artisans include scarves, fleece clothing, baby blankets, fiber artwork, wreaths, handmade baskets, handpainted saws, soaps, and more. Admission is free.
The Whallonsburg Grange Hall is located at 1610 NYS Route 22, five miles south of the Essex ferry dock. For more information, visit their website.
