The Champlain Valley Film Series is set to present the documentary Free Solo, with special guest renowned climber, author and Adirondack guide Don Mellor in Whallonsburg, March 16th.
Mellor, author of four Adirondack rock and ice climbing guides, and other books. He has climbed El Capitan and other Yosemite walls and will answer questions after the film
Free Solo, winner of Best Documentary at last month’s Academy Awards, is a look at free soloist climber Alex Honnold, as he prepares to climb the face of the world’s most famous rock – 3,200 foot El Capitan in Yosemite National Park – without a rope.
This event will be held at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall on Saturday, March 16, at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for those under 18. The Whallonsburg Grange Hall is located at 1610 NYS Route 22, in Essex. For more information, click here.
