  1. Richard L Daly says:

And why/how is Vermont’s retail pot bill of interest in the ADKS? Can’t the editors focus a little better composing the weekly summary? Inquirin minds wanna know.

    • Boreas says:

Since I can see VT 8 miles from where I live, it is certainly of interest to me. If/when legalized in VT and if/when pot becomes readily available, it will certainly involve people within the Adirondacks, only a ferry or bridge away.

    • John Warren says:

In addition to Boreas’s observation that VT is minutes away from many readers, other Adirondackers are currently being arrested and imprisoned for marijuana violations. Each year, the State Police spends untold dollars searching for home grown pot in the Adirondacks by helicopter (several very large operations, at least one on Forest Preserve land, have been located in the Adirondacks). The Adirondacks also has a medical marijuana growing operation in Chestertown which could lose considerable money if it’s outpaced by operations in Vermont.

Each Friday I assemble 20 stories, almost entirely news and background on issues that are relevant to people who live, work, and play in the Adirondacks. You’re not required to read them all.
