Essex Community Fund Accepting Grant Applications

adirondack foundation logoThe Essex Community Fund, a component fund of Adirondack Foundation, has invited local nonprofits, schools, churches and municipalities to apply for grant funding. Eligible projects must serve Town of Essex residents through community services, beautification, historic preservation, culture, the arts, education, or programs for youth and senior citizens.

The Fund gives strong preference to capacity building grants or modest one-time capital projects. It does not award grants for ongoing operating expenses. Last year, the Fund’s grants ranged from $250 to $2,000, with an average grant size of $1,300 for programs of the Belden Noble and Paine Memorial libraries, Whallonsburg Grange Hall, Essex Theater Company, and others. This year, the Fund will consider requests for up to $5,000.

The deadline to apply is 5 pm on June 4th. After reviewing applications, the Essex Community Fund anticipates making grant recommendations in June with funding as early as July.

Applications must be submitted online through Adirondack Foundation’s Online Grants Manager. For more information or questions, contact Adirondack Foundation program officer Andrea Grout at (518) 523-9904 or andrea@adkfoundation.org, or Nick Muller at the Essex Community Fund at (518) 963-8188 or ludditenick@gmail.com.
