APA Meeting Agenda Includes Primitive Tent Sites

APA Building in Ray Brook NYThe Adirondack Park Agency will hold its monthly meeting at its headquarters in Ray Brook on Thursday, June 13th, 2019, beginning at 9 am.

The meeting will feature consideration of a proposed two-lot subdivision involving wetlands and construction of a 150-foot-tall water tower in the Town of Mayfield; consideration of a public comment period on the Agency’s General Permit for the Replacement of Utility Poles; a presentation on the potential for the next generation to serve as catalysts for Community Climate Action; and consideration of a public comment period for proposed State Land Master Plan guidance for Primitive Tent Sites.

What follows is the agenda issued by the APA:

On Thursday at 9 am, the Full Agency will convene for Executive Director Terry Martino’s monthly report.

At 9:30 am, the Regulatory Programs Committee will consider approval for the Town of Mayfield’s proposed two-lot subdivision involving wetlands and construction of a 150-foot-tall water tower. The project site is in the Town of Mayfield, Fulton County.

The committee will consider authorizing a public comment period on the Agency’s General Permit for the Replacement of Utility Poles. The committee meeting will conclude with a briefing on updates to applications and permitting documents including the new Agency application for Commercial Solar Generation Facilities.

At 12:15 pm, the Full Agency will honor long-serving Essex County Board of Supervisor Chairman and Town of Newcomb Supervisor George Canon. The Agency will dedicate a tree in its Arboretum, “The Forest of Heroes,” in remembrance of Mr. Canon for his outstanding contributions to the Adirondack Park. The event is open to the public.

At 1:30 pm, the Park Ecology Committee will hear an informational presentation on the potential for the next generation to serve as catalysts for Community Climate Action. Jen Kretser, Director of Climate Initiatives (The Wild Center) and Dazzle Ekblad, Climate Policy Analyst (New York State Department of Environmental Conservation) will highlight initiatives working towards the Climate Smart Communities (CSC) Certification Program.

At 2:45 pm, the State Land Committee will consider authorizing a public comment period for proposed State Land Master Plan guidance for Primitive Tent Sites.

At 4 pm, the Full Agency will convene to take any necessary actions and hear member and Local Government Review Board comment.
