This year’s Annual Chilson Volunteer Fire Department Chicken Barbecue has been set for Saturday, July 13th from noon until 5 pm at the fire department’s Chilson Community House, 60 Putts Pond Road.
The Chilson BBQ Chicken dinner with all the fixins will be served from 2 to 4 pm, at a cost of $12. There will be entertainment all day by local musicians, and of course raffles for prizes.
The department’s newest fire apparatus will be on display, too: the 3,000-gallon Tanker 135. It’s a workhorse of a truck that can bring lifesaving water power to fire scenes where hydrants or open water sources aren’t available – a common situation in the Chilson Fire Protection District.
Again this year the department is inviting local vendors and exhibitors of non-food items to join them and their more than 200 guests for an afternoon of community fun. Interested vendors can e-mail [email protected] or call (518) 503-5067.
Dinner tickets go on sale at 11 am on the day of the event, or can be purchased on any Tuesday evening at the firehouse, 7 to 9 pm. For advance BBQ ticket sales send an e-mail to Ch[email protected], or call (518) 585-6951.
Last year’s BBQ was a sellout, so get your tickets early.
