The North Warren Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of the Great Brant Lake Canoe Race has been set for August 17th. Paddlers of canoes, kayaks, SUPs and guide boats will begin at the north end of the lake and paddle 5.5 miles into the outlet, finishing just above the Mill Pond dam in the Hamlet of Horicon.
The start will be at the bridge at the north end of Brant Lake at 9:30 am. The race will finish at the take out at The Hub’s dock, just upstream of the Mill Pond bridge. There will be registration on the day of the race from 7:30 to 8:30 am at the Hub and an award ceremony at 12:30 pm after the finish.
The race originally began in the 1970s and was run by local community volunteers.
Registrations is $20 or $30 depending on boat class. Proceeds will benefit the North Warren Chamber of Commerce.
