The Lake George Area is set to host a number of festivals and events this fall. Events range from Warrensburg to Glens Falls, and include a Food Festival, the World’s Largest Garage sale, and more.
Six Flags Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor’s annual Fright Fest is set for weekends from September 28 through October 27. This month long celebration of all things spooky is the perfect event for kids and adults to celebrate Halloween.
The daytime at the park offers thrills and family-friendly activities that kids will love. Once the sun goes down, zombies and ghouls invade the park. The fear factor is cranked up after 5 pm: fright-filled scare zones are located throughout the park, frightening shows last all evening, roaming hordes of terrifying creatures are set to scare around every turn, and thrill rides become more terrifying in the dark.
Taste of the North Country Food Festival is set for September 29tg in the Glens Falls City Park. Each year, this popular annual event gets bigger and better as chefs prepare upscale tastes as well as items that will appeal to younger festival-goers. Many varieties of cuisine will be offered.
The World’s Largest Garage Sale is set for October 5th & 6th in Warrensburg. The World’s Largest Garage Sale is a combination of a flea market, craft fair, food fest, and bargain hunter’s dream. Visitors from across the country head to the Adirondack town of Warrensburg every fall for this event.
An entire community of vendors and local garage sales gather on the main drag in Warrensburg and on the residential backstreets to sell items of all types. Over 500 vendors offer antiques, children’s items, clothing, electronics, furniture, memorabilia, and more. Chester, to the north of Warrensburg, will have its town-wide sale at the same time.
The Adirondack Film Festival is set for October 17th through 20th in Glens Falls. The Adirondack Film Festival offers four days of high-quality, professional films in downtown Glens Falls. The selection of films includes something for everyone, including dramas, documentaries, comedies, family films, web series, and shorts. These films convey a wide range of human emotions, with themes that are heavy, hilarious, dark, uplifting, and more. Over 125 films will be screened over the course of one long weekend.
