DEC to Remove Sediments at Westport Boat Launch

DEC logoThe New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced that the agency will remove sediments accumulated in front of the ramp of the Westport Boat Launch on Lake Champlain in late October.

The removal of sediments will improve access for boaters who launch and retrieve boats during periods when the water is low.

DEC will close the boat launch, which is located off Champlain Avenue (Route 22), from October 15th thru November 29th, while work is underway.

The sediments will be dewatered at the boat launch site, tested for contamination, and disposed at a facility approved to accept the waste.
