Adirondack Foundation, the community foundation serving the Adirondack Region, in cooperation with Mountain Lake PBS, have announced a workshop for nonprofit professionals, volunteers, and board members, on how to raise unrestricted dollars to support operations, programs, and more.
Eighty percent of charitable funds come from individual donors, not foundations or corporations. This workshop is an opportunity to learn how to build a fundraising program that honors the mission of your organization, engages potential donors, and raises more unrestricted funding.
The workshop, “More Money!” is set for Saturday, November 2nd, from 10 am to 3 pm, at Mountain Lake PBS, 1 Sesame Street in Plattsburgh.
Topics covered include:
• Where money comes from: Building a diverse funding base
• The basic principles of fundraising
• Identifying prospective donors
• “The ask” — face to face solicitation
• Ranking the effectiveness of different fundraising strategies
This interactive workshop is being led by Andy Robinson, who has trained and supported thousands of nonprofit staff and volunteer leaders in 47 states and across Canada.
The cost per person is $40 for organizations with an operating budget over $100,000 or $20 for organizations with budgets under $100,000. Lunch is included.
Pre-registration is required and can be completed online. For more information, contact Lindsay Yost, at (518) 523-9904 or lindsay@adkfoundation.org.
