Saranac Lake Ice Palace Film Premiering At LP Film Fest

Ice Palace A Love LetterDuring the 2016 Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, New York City Filmmaker Mark Burns went to Saranac Lake to capture the process from start to finish of what it takes to make the carnival happen. His film, Ice Palace, A Love Letter, is set to have its world premiere at the Lake Placid Film Festival on October 27, 2019 at 6:30 pm.

The film offers a rarely seen, behind the scenes peek at how the Ice Palace is built, and captures the people working hard to keep the carnival tradition alive since 1897.

The premiere will include a red-carpet event. Attendees are encouraged to dress in ice blue tones or wear icy-looking jewelry or accessories, if they choose. After the film, there will be a Q & A session with Mark Burns.

The Lake Placid Film Festival is selling tickets to the movie for $15 at the Palace Theater door. There are no advance ticket sales, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.

The movie trailer can be viewed here.

The Lake Placid Film Festival runs from October 23rd through 27th and will have many other films screening. You can purchase a festival pass which would include this film and others. More information is available online.

The 2020 Winter Carnival will take place January 31st through February 9th. More information is available on the Carnival website.
