Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Vendors Sought

Applications for vendors participating during the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival are now available online. Applications can also be picked up at the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce at 39 Main Street.

The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival will take place on January 31st – February 9th, 2020 featuring a “Myths and Legends” theme. All vendors participating during the carnival are required to complete and return a vendor agreement form and submit a deposit check by January 17, 2020.

A copy of the completed vendor agreement should be emailed to Martin Marks at [email protected], and the original vendor agreement and check mailed to the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.

Any vendor serving food or beverages will also be responsible for securing an operating permit from the New York State Department of Health at least 30 days before the event. This permit must be displayed at all times food is being sold or prepared, and shown to appropriate officials upon request. For more information about vendors, contact Martin Marks at [email protected] or (516) 314-0967.

The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Committee, formally known as the Society for Promotion of Winter Carnival, Saranac Lake, Inc., is a not-for-profit 501(c)(4) organization of volunteers dedicated to planning and presenting an annual mid-winter festival. This 10-day, communitywide event traces its roots to a one-day Winter Carnival held in 1897 by the Pontiac Club. The Carnival honors its heritage every year by building an Ice Palace from blocks of ice harvested from Lake Flower’s Pontiac Bay, where carnival events have been traditionally held for generations.

I hope they won’t allow multi-level marketers to cheapen the event. Small businesses only!! Support local, real businesses, not salespeople for predatory corporations!
