Major Snowboardcross and Skicross Event At Gore

NORAM Holeshot TourGore Mountain is one of two US stops and the only East Coast venue to host the US Ski & Snowboard NorAm 2020 Hole Shot and Revolution Tour Monday-Friday, February 3-7.

The Hole Shot Tour is an FIS NorAm competition designed to bridge the gap between grassroots and World Cup level athletes of Snowboardcross (ages 15+) and Skicross (ages 16+). Hundreds of top athletes from across the country and around the world are expected to compete.

This 5-day lineup of training and competition is taking place on Gore’s new 4,000-foot cross course on the Wild Air & Pot Luck trails.

Revolution Tour features national athletes from the up-and-coming ages 13+ group moving into elite levels. The event week includes official training sessions, qualification rounds, finals, and award ceremonies.

Spectators are welcome and encouraged. Gore Mountain’s slopeside sundecks also offer all spectators prime viewing opportunities.  Public viewing areas for ticketed skiers and riders will be located at the intersection of the Lower Sleighride and Wild Air trails, overlooking the start, as well as at the top of The Arena, overlooking the finish.

In addition to the five days of competition, Gore Mountain has scheduled several activities before, during, and after the NorAm events. For athletes inspired by the action, the NorAm Festival Week starts with a Beginner Freestyle Clinic on Sunday, February 2 and wraps up with the USASA Boarder/Skiercross on Saturday, February 8.

Other activities include Master the Mountain Ski & Snowboard Clinics both Saturday-Sunday, February 1-2 and February 8-9, Trivia Night on Monday, February 3, a variety of luncheon and takeout pizza specials, and a closing Full Moon Party at the North Creek Ski Bowl on Saturday, February 8. Twilight activities at the Ski Bowl throughout the week include Citizen Nordic & Snowshoe Races, fat tire biking, and night skiing.

Gore Mountain is scheduled to host more cross events for elite levels, including the winter World University Games in January 2023. The World University Games is the largest winter multi-sporting competition outside of the Olympics, and its broad scope of events will be held throughout the Adirondacks.
