Adirondack Health Offers Student Scholarships

Adirondack HealthThe Adirondack Health Foundation of Saranac Lake has made three scholarships available for local students who are planning careers in health care.  The scholarships are awarded to those who have already been accepted into a nursing program, or another approved allied health career.

Former awardee Shaleen Price has the following to say about her experience when she was awarded the scholarship: “Going back to school is always stressful financially, so the benefit of taking away some of that stress was a great gift,” said Price. “I was able to complete my degree locally with the help of the Adirondack Health Foundation scholarship, lessening the financial burden. I remain very grateful for the scholarship and would encourage anyone looking at going back to school to apply.”

Students with a proven track record of working for Adirondack Health and currently taking steps to further their education will be given priority. Those interested in applying can download the application at https://www.adirondackhealth.org/scholarships. The deadline for application is April 30.

Qualified applicants must be full time students with 12 credit hours per semester, be willing to work for Adirondack Health for 1 year upon graduation, granted a position is available, and must maintain an average GPA of 3.0 or higher to automatically eligible for a second-year scholarship.
