Updates on Services available in Long Lake/Raquette Lake Area

Long Lake Nutrition Site/Senior Meal Site – Delivery Only
Anyone over 60 eligible to sign up, no pre-authorization required. Call 518-624-5221 Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. No answering machine. 

Weekly Schedule
Monday – 2 meals delivered. 1 Hot and 1 cold plate
Wednesday – 2 Meals delivered. 1 Hot and 1 cold plate
Friday – 1 Meal Delivered
Please order for the entire week. Due to the increased volume in meal preparations, no “day of” requests can be handled at this time. Menu subject to change without notice.

Community Action has partnered with Hamilton County departments to provide monthly home delivered community action orders.

At this time food and supplies to delivered to 10 families per day on a first come, first serve basis. Orders are due by 3:00 pm the day before scheduled delivery.

All Local Long Lake Town and Hamilton County Roads have been posted CLOSED to any vehicle with a gross weight in excess of 6 tons.  Pursuant to sections 1650 & 1660 of Vehicle & Traffic Law. Tracy J. Eldridge, Co. Supt of Highways.

Other Closures:

Long Lake Library, Raquette Lake Library & Long Lake Central School & Raquette Lake School currently closed until further notice. All Little Bus runs are currently suspended. Yoga is suspended.

Long Lake & Raquette Lake Recreation News

Long Lake Town Beach, Mt. Sabattis Basketball and Tennis Courts now closed until further notice. 

New York State is on PAUSE and the Town of Long Lake is working within the established parameters to ensure the safety of the entire community.  

  • Non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size for any reason (e.g. parties, celebrations or other social events) are canceled or postponed at this time.
  • When in public individuals must practice social distancing of at least six feet from others. The CDC now recommends wearing masks when out in public.

Below is a list of steps the DEC and the parks department is taking to reduce the spread of COVID-19:

Camping changes: all state-operated campgrounds, cabins, and cottages are closed to overnight visitation through April 30. All visitors with reservations will be issued a full refund. New York State has also suspended all new camping, cabin and cottage reservations for the 2020 season until further notice. They are assessing campground status on a daily basis. If you’ve made reservations for the season beginning May 1, and it is determined your campground is safe to open, your reservation will be honored. However, visitors who wish to cancel an existing reservation may do so and receive a full refund.

Locally this will impact all reservations at Lake Eaton, Forked Lake, Golden Beach, Brown’s Tract, Lake Durant, 8th Lake, Limekiln and Tioga Point.  Reservations through 

DEC is closing access to DEC-controlled fire towers to the public. 

Local Impacts:  Owls Head Mountain, Goodnow Mountain, Blue Mountain, Bald Mountain, Wakely, Snowy & Pillsbury Mountain all Fire Towers are closed. 

Due to non-essential business requirements, Birds Marina, Burke’s Marine and Raquette Lake Supply in Raquette Lake have suspended access to paid private boat launches in Raquette Lake  until May 1st

Long Lake Marina in Long Lake is open for local property owners only, but there will be no boat rentals until further notice.
