Even though events aren’t officially taking place, there are still opportunities to commemorate loved ones on your own. In the past, the Lake Placid event involved a ¬†walk 2.7-mile walk around Mirror Lake “in memory of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice,” Chase writes.
