Lawson and Clint Allen Scholarship Accepting Applicants

The Essex Community Fund at Adirondack Foundation announced the “Lawson and Clint Allen Scholarship and Educational Program Fund” is now accepting applications for graduating high school seniors within Essex and Willsboro. Eligable applications will be enrolled in public, private, or home schools with plans to attend post-secondary education at a 2 or 4 year college, or through trade certification.

Now on its ninth year, the Allen scholarship awards an annual $5000 scholarship with potential annual renewals for recipients who make consistent progress towards their degree or certification. Last years 2019 winner was Ben Jackson, of Essex who received $5,000 to attend the University of Vermont. Warren Jackson of Essex and Darian Sweat of Willsboro, who attend SUNY Albany and Colby-Sawyer College in New Hampshire will have both of their scholarships renewed as well.

Scholarship applications will be due on May 31. Students may request applications from the Willsboro Central School or Boquet Valley Central School guidance counselors, or by contacting Nick Muller, Essex Community Fund at 518-963-8188, or ludditenick@gmail.com, or P.O. Box 101, Essex, NY 12936.
