ROOST releases “Politely Adirondack” Posters

The Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism (ROOST) has released a series of posters available for printing which encourages practices which would reduce the spread of COVID-19, such as social distancing, hand washing, and mask wearing.

The “Politely Adirondack” series is part of a larger toolkit for businesses.

ROOST’s design team has created a series of cute, friendly posters which showcase good measures to take. The posters can be downloaded and printed from the ROOST website, and ROOST will be distributing larger versions of posters and outdoor yard sale style signs for higher traffic areas.

“As we start the first of the four phases, it is important we follow the guidelines set forth by the state, in order to proceed to the next steps. Following the guidelines will ensure everyone stays healthy as we start the region’s economic recovery,” ROOST CEO James McKenna said in a news release.

To download them, go to https://www.roostadk.com/toolkit. The posters are part of a larger toolkit for businesses to adjust to phase 1 of reopening. The kits include photos and videos which can be shared on social media, and tips and information on keeping social media channels current.

Nice try, but I’d bet a hat on the lack of cooperation by folks, particularly the younger generation who figure they might get “sick”, but exposure/infection won’t be fatal. From what I’ve seen in general (young and old), there appears to be a growing callousness to the fatal seriousness of this virus.

That attitude in concert with government’s general “reprioritizing” of human lives versus.salvaging the economy recently can just about guarantee another surge in infections/deaths.

Posters are nice, but I have a hard time believing they’ll be even modestly effective.

But why worry, huh….we gotta lot of people….right?
