The Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LPCA) is saddened to announce that the drive-in concert featuring Uprooted on Saturday, Aug. 1 has been cancelled. The organization is following guidelines from the New York State Department of Health/North Country Regional Control Board, said Marketing Manager Alison Simcox. “It’s our understanding that the ultimate decision is coming through the Control Board,” she said.
Though in-person concerts are no longer possible at this time, the LPCA believes that the health and safety of the community are the most important priorities, and will continue to comply with advice from the state. In the meantime, LPCA staff will keep working on innovative programming to bring future arts experiences to audiences as safely as possible, as soon as possible.
For anyone who has already purchased tickets to Uprooted, refunds will be automatically processed this week. Ticketholders are also invited to consider donating the amount of their ticket to the LPCA. With each event cancellation, the LPCA experiences a significant loss in expected revenue, which affects capacity for future programming. Each generous contribution will help bring the next band to Lake Placid as soon as health guidelines allow. As a thank you, those who donate their tickets will receive access to an exclusive pre-sale and $5 off tickets to the next LPCA live music event.
Ticket donations can be made by contacting Program Manager Lorraine Draper at firstname.lastname@example.org before Thursday, July 23 at noon.
