Camping event benefits PSC’s climate fellowship program

Originally planned as a weekend-long in-person gathering of the Crua Community at Paul Smith’s College in New York’s Adirondacks, Werifesteria 2020 has been shifted into a worldwide virtual camping experience that you can do from anywhere Sept. 4-6. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Paul Smith’s College Climate Fellowship Program.

Registration is now open at https://www.cruaoutdoors.com/pages/werifesteria.

Guests will be encouraged to go camping in their backyard or at their favorite local camping spot. Those who share images and video from their experience on the event Facebook page will be entered into a drawing to win a Grand Prize Werifesteria 2021 VIP Experience at Paul Smith’s College among other Crua Outdoors prizes.

In order to give registrants and followers of Crua Outdoors a sense of what Werifesteria 2021 will be like, the Crua team will be camping at Paul Smith’s College during the weekend and bringing you live content from their experience while hiking, paddling and cycling from the 14,000-acre campus located in the heart of the northern Adirondacks.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Paul Smith’s College Climate Fellowship program, which provides funds to students who design personal expeditions and collect climate stories from across the world. Students from Paul Smith’s College will be joining the Crua Team while camping and adventuring during the September 4-6 event.

“The climate fellowship program is an amazing experience for students who want to get out in the world and capture a piece of our current environmental story,” said Paul Smith’s College Environmental Science Professor Bethany Garretson. “Our program and fellows have collected climate stories from South Africa, the Adirondacks, Nepal and Gulf coast.”

Complete event information is available at https://www.cruaoutdoors.com/pages/werifesteria. Registrants will receive by mail a specialized Werifesteria edition bandana from Crua Outdoors, a discount coupon to the Crua Outdoors online store, a commemorative edition of Adirondack Life Magazine, and a sticker from Bike Adirondacks.
