This Thursday, Sept. 17, TAUNY, a non profit based in Canton dedicated to folk art/traditions in the Adirondack North Country region, is holding its annual Welcome to the North Country Open House, in a slightly revised way this year.
Join them for an assembly of virtual and in-person features to welcome newcomers, help make and celebrate new neighbors, and invite long-time residents to get to know the North Country in new ways.
Features include the chance to:
- learn about North Country environmental and cultural life through the online release of Talking Wings Collective’s “As the Grasse Talks” Virtual Tour/Performance,
- learn about regional folklife events and get season-specific tips through our North Country Folklife Calendar release,
- and stop by The TAUNY Center to view and contribute your own perspective to the pop-up North Country Orientation exhibit display–as well as the ongoing “St. Lawrence County Barn Quilts” and Fiberistas’ “Landscape” and “Suffragette Quilts” exhibitions.
Visit tauny.org for further details on how to view and participate.
