More to explore: Extra footage

Adirondack Explorer readers who occasionally click on stories that include one of our videos may be unaware that there’s much more where that came from.

If you’re regular YouTube visitor, you might want to subscribe to our channel there. It’s a free way to check out our latest visual stories and Adirondackana, or to scroll through the dozens of videos we have produced and curated over the years.

Recent additions to our collection include one about the hemlock woolly adelgid and the people who are fighting that ominous infestation around Lake George; one that follows Atlantic salmon up the Boquet River, from above and below the surface; and trail cam footage of an Adirondack moose trail, pictured above.

We’ve also begun posting some conversations with newsmakers, such as a recent web forum about renewable energy in the park and an interview about our road salt problem.

It’s another way we’re helping people keep up with events and enjoy the park. Of course, you can also find a home for these videos on, but my hunch is that if you like videos you might spend more time on YouTube than scanning our homepage. Might as well make things easy.

Thanks for reading, and for watching.

Hi Brandon, You any relation to the Infamous loomis gang that terrorized central Ny in the 19th century?

Here’s another clip I got after I moved one of my cams down low about a foot from the ground hoping to get a close up of a fisher or bobcat. Random spot not really on a trail. Never expected this.
