She worked as a communications specialist for the Adirondack North Country Association and runs her own New York State Women owned Business-Enterprise Bootstrap Communications, which includes digital marketing, strategy and design.     I’m sorry about the suspension of the Essex ferry. I hope it will be resumed soon. And kudos who thought of the boat parade to honor the decades of creations by Pete Hornbeck. But we’re all laughing at the guy who plunged through the ice of Mirror Lake in Lake Placid, managed to save himself with textbook ice-rescue techniques, and never lost his cup of coffee. We’re glad he’s OK, but it was absolutely hilarious!

The Adirondack Almanack

The Adirondack Almanack is a public forum dedicated to promoting and discussing current events, history, arts, nature and outdoor recreation and other topics of interest to the Adirondacks and its communities

We publish commentary and opinion pieces from voluntary contributors, as well as news updates and event notices from area organizations. Contributors include veteran local writers, historians, naturalists, and outdoor enthusiasts from around the Adirondack region.
