The Lake George Association Floating Classroom is Coming July 15th

The Lake George Association’s Floating Classroom will be in Sandy Bay to support the Lake Stewardship Group of Cleverdale Asian Clam Day on Thursday, July 15. Asian Clam Day is a hands-on educational and awareness event for residents and visitors.

The Floating Classroom will depart from Lake George Village at 8:30 am and return to the Village at approximately 10:30 am. While onboard passengers will learn all about the threats to water quality facing Lake George. We will go into Sandy Bay and see first hand the Asian Clam infestation. We will learn how to identify Asian Clams among the many different mollusks in the lake and learn what can be done to prevent the spread of Asian Clams. If time allows we will conduct some simple (and fun) experiments on the return trip to the Village.

Thanks to our sponsors, The Lake Stewardship Group of Cleverdale, Love is on Lake George, The Sans Souci Restaurant and The Cleverdale Country Store there is no cost to the passengers! If you are interested in riding with us on the Floating Classroom you must email your request to and more details will be provided. Seats are limited!

Would you like to participate in the Lake Stewardship Group of Cleverdale Asian Clam Day? Help is welcome & needed, you will be in-the-water! Come to the shallows of Sandy Bay 8:30-10:30 and you will learn to scoop, sift and identify Asian Clams! Look for future announcements and information on Asian Clam Day in Sandy Bay on July 15, the first of several Asian clam events this summer.
