LAKE PLEASANT — Hamilton County Twigs has voted to award $57,700 in grants to six non-profits within its service area of southern Hamilton County.
The vote took place during the group’s annual membership meeting Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Lake Pleasant Fire Hall.
Beneficiaries are Speculator Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the emergency “fly-car” staffed by advanced EMTs, Wells Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Piseco Volunteer Fire Department Ambulance Corps, and the Twigs Scholarship Fund.
The money was raised primarily through the sale of donated items at Twigs Treasures House on the corner of State Route 8 and Page Street in Lake Pleasant.
President Joan Bobbette expressed thanks to the many people who donate goods, those who shop at Twigs, and the volunteers who make it all possible, including many who are not members but who pitch in when needed.
