Want to get your organization’s announcements on the Almanack?
It’s easy! Just send an email to [email protected].
Provide all the key details: Who, what, when, and where. Bonus points for providing a photo (jpg files preferred).
We’re also looking for more columnists willing to write occasional commentary and/or researched articles around the following topics: Adirondack history, nature, wildlife, outdoor recreation, Adirondack living and more!
Weigh in here with any questions you may have and thanks for reading!
Well done, Melissa. Of course, I love the Almanack, but this could be a fine expansion of its scope. KUDOS !
Re: “We’re also looking for more”…
Dear Melissa, Thank you for your encouraging words aimed at the would-be writers among us.
The Adirondack Explorer/Almanack is truly a breath of fresh air in a world where acrimony, lies and conspiracy swirl all around us masquerading as truth – to the confusion of all of us and to the detriment of our democracy.
This forum helps bring us all closer together. You make us see ourselves as part of one Adirondack-north country community capable of seeing past our differences and capable of working together if we just try a little harder.
If I had one suggestion, it would be; don’t hold back on the difficult and controversial topics that are all around us and in need of airing. Also, don’t avoid the awful truths and dire warnings about what we humans are doing to Earth’s natural environment.
I cling to the hope that if you show the way, other such truth-telling forums will follow – to the benefit of us all. Please lead the way…
I still think that it would be nice to have the ability to edit ones post after it is submitted.
