My Explorer/Almanack wish list in this age of endless Covid would be that this venue continues to welcome all of us to share our stories, our concerns, our opinions and our interests. Help us to see ourselves as one inclusive Adirondack- north country community where we can learn to look past our differences and work together to build a better future.

I agree with louis’s comment here, particularly in the area of Covid/Health. There are so many positive and encouraging health alternatives to the main stream pharmaceutical solutions that include what most ADKers have in common- Love of Nature!

Sharing alternative ways of health / healing that involves building up our natural immunity, diet, exercise, reducing vulnerablities to viruses/sickness/disease such as stress, obesity, etc. while combining natural, organic resources that are often found in our own backyard is valuable info that can contribute in creating healthy communities.

I have always wondered if the Adirondack RR has a history of losing money and do they pay a lease for the use of the NYS maintained rails.

Topic suggestion: DRONES. Our family would like to read other people’s impressions, feelings and observations of trying to enjoy the Adirondacks along side computerized surveillance systems. Regardless of the park’s land designations and laws telling drone owners were they can fly their toys in the Park it would be interesting to read if enough residents, property owners and visitors are starting to experience an increased drone usage in the Adirondacks. Is it starting to negatively or positively impact their experiences in the Park? Over the past four years we have seen a noticeable increase of drones at mountain summits or while kayaking and picnicking at Newcomb’s Overlook. Drones have overshadowed our mood to the point of ruining our adventure by an individual or even groups using these invasive, and intrusive machines! Thank you to the ADK Explorer journalists for considering this topic suggestion.
