Free Beyond the Peaks “Filmmaking 101” Workshop slated for Nov. 28

Mountain Lake PBS is proud to present the Beyond the Peaks Student Film Festival during the 2022-23 school year. High school and homeschool students who love film and filmmaking are invited to gather for a free, one-day “Filmmaking 101” Workshop at Mountain Lake PBS in Plattsburgh. N.Y. on November 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Workshop participants will learn key audio/video techniques and storytelling best practices.

Attendees will also learn how to navigate the Skills 21 Launchpad film submission platform, and get insights into each of the film festival entry categories. Culminating with optional group work time and 1-on-1 sessions with professional media-makers, this is a great chance to enhance your skills while meeting peer film and video buffs from across the region.

Who can attend the workshop?

High school students in NY, VT, and QC (up to 4 students and 1 teacher per school)

Homeschool students (up to 4 students and 1 adult chaperone per group)

Those interested are encouraged to register soon to reserve a spot, as registration is limited and closes on Monday, November 21.
