ANCA to host free virtual grant writing workshop Dec. 13

All are invited to strengthen their business or organization with effective grant writing practices by joining ANCA for a Grant Writing 101 course on Tuesday, December 13 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The free virtual workshop is designed to help identify and apply for grants that support one’s business and organizational goals. During this 1.5 hour webinar, which will take place via Zoom, ANCA staff will share their extensive knowledge and experience with finding grant opportunities, identifying those that match applicant goals, developing successful proposals, navigating the submission process, and managing grant funds.

All are welcome to attend, including municipal leaders, small business owners, nonprofit personnel, farmers, community champions, and anyone with an interest in developing their grant writing skills.

Grants Make Things Happen:

Grant support can help small business and community projects get off the ground and grow. For example, AdkAction, ANCA, Compost for Good and River Valley Regeneratives have each been awarded grants to advance community-scale composting opportunities in the North Country. Their combined awards have helped spur local business development, reduce waste, and increase awareness and action around composting.

Workshop attendees will learn about these and other successful grants supported by ANCA and partners.

Learn from ANCA’s Experience:

The Grant Writing 101 webinar includes a presentation from ANCA Energy Circuit Rider Jennifer Perry, who in 30 years of grant writing has helped secure over $8 million for projects with a focus in clean energy and community-scale composting.

Staff from ANCA’s Entrepreneurial Economy, Clean Energy, and Food Systems programs will lead breakout sessions and offer participants targeted assistance for applying for grants in their focus areas.

Agenda:

  • 10:30-11:15: Introduction to effective grant writing
  • 11:15 -12:00: Small group break outs focusing on funding sources specific to your goals/programs
