Long Lake/Raquette Lake events roundup through Dec. 15

The holiday season is upon us and the towns of Long Lake and Raquette Lake have many programs and activities on tap on the below calendar of events to suit a wide variety of interests and ages. The calendar of events outlines activities through Thursday, December 15.

 

Wednesday, December 7th

10:30 am: Swim Bus. Departs from St Henry’s Church in Long Lake at 10:30 am returns
approximately 12:45 pm. If interested in riding, email Yvette at londmy@yahoo.com.

 

 

Thursday, December 8th

3-5 pm: Knitting Group. CVW Long Lake Public Library.
7 pm: Order of the Easter Star Meeting. Long Lake Masonic Hall.

Saturday, December 10th

9 am-12 pm: Food Pantry. Downstairs of Wesleyan Church. Open 9 am to 12 pm Saturdays, or call
518-624-2311 to visit during the week.

12 pm: Annual Ladies Luncheon. Adirondack Hotel. The Friends of the Long Lake Library hosts
their annual Ladies Holiday Luncheon, in honor of Her Majesty the Queen, this year’s menu will
feature British and English fare. Cost is $25 per person. For more information, contact lgl-

Sunday, December 11th

1:30 pm: Annual Creche Opening. Long Lake Town Hall. The Annual Creche Opening will take place
on the Town Hall lawn, all are welcome.
2 pm: North Country Fair Concert. Long Lake Town Hall. North Country Fair, an arrangement of
local musicians that specializes in Celtic music and instruments, will be playing a concert on Sunday December 11th from 2-4 pm at the Long Lake Town Hall. The show will focus on
Scottish, Irish and French-Canadian music with a holiday theme including some clogging.
Admission is free, and this is a family-friendly event. Call (518) 624-3077 for more information.

 

 

 

Tuesday, December 13th

6 pm: Fire District #1 Election. Long Lake Fire Hall. To the electors of the Long Lake fire District
#1 Town of Long Lake, N.Y. You are hereby notified that the Annual Election of the Fire
Commissioners of the Town of Long Lake, N.Y. will be held at the fire station building in the
Hamlet of Long Lake, located at 111 South Hill Rd. on December 13, 2022.
The polls will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing a Fire
Commissioner for a 5-year term. Term to commence on January 1, 2023. The 5 year
Commissioner seat is currently held by Harry Buxton. By order of the Fire Commissioners,

Wednesday, December 14th

6:30 pm: Raquette Lake Christmas Tree Lighting. Raquette Lake School. The Annual Tree
Lighting gets a visit from Santa this year to distribute presents to Raquette Lake kids.

 

7 pm: Trivia Night. Long View Lodge. Come test your knowledge against the Trivia Tsar for your
chance to win prizes, bragging rights, and points toward the Trivia Master Cup.

 

 

Thursday, December 15th
3-5 pm: Knitting Group. CVW Long Lake Public Library.
