Then, kicking off 2023, Honky Tonk Angels, a country-hit musical written by Ted Swindley (Always… Patsy Cline) transforms Pendragon’s stage into a Nashville oasis filled with crowd favorite Country tunes. Playing during Winter Carnival February 1 thru 12, details and tickets can be found at: https://www.pendragontheatre.
Visit Pendragon Theatre during Winter Carnival and hear some of country’s greatest pop hits as three gutsy women leading unfulfilled lives decide to cut loose and board a bus headed for Nashville to pursue their dream of becoming country singers. Loads of twang and sass result in a feel-good mix of laughter, tears, and country pop favorites. “These Boots are Made for Walking,” “Stand by Your Man,” “Delta Dawn,” “9 to 5,” “Amazing Grace,” and “Harper Valley PTA” are just a few of the heart-thumpin’, foot-stompin’, country classics you’ll experience — with a live band on stage — for Honky Tonk Angels at Pendragon Theatre.
Tickets are $25 if you purchase before February 1 and $35 after that, so be sure to purchase in advance!
Directed and choreographed by Beth Glover (Broadway National Tour of Cinderella, and notably Blanche in Pendragon’s A Streetcar Named Desire), Beth leads the artistic team with Kim Weems as Music Director and features the incredible acting and singing talents of Beth Buczkowski, Annachristi Cordes and Laura Farrell. The band on stage also includes Lucky Cerruti on Guitar and Elaine Dewar and Anna Rufola on Fiddle (rotating performances).
Kent Streed as costume and set designer, Bonnie B. Brewer as lighting designer, Breanna Trombley as assistant stage manager and Jess Kemp as production stage manager round out the team. The show is produced by Pendragon Theatre and associate producer Karen Lewis.
Please note this production is appropriate for all ages. While Pendragon does not require masks, the theatre strongly encourages wearing masks while in the space.
